Who We Are |
Scouts BSA Troop 103
If you are a boy or girl aged 11-17, we would like to extend an invitation to try scouting with Troop 103. Troop meetings are held most Tuesday nights at Fox Hill Elementary School at 7pm. Please check the calendar for upcoming meetings and events. We are a scout-led troop committed to developing in young men and women the skills required for a successful life.
Camping - We camp at least 8 times a year. Our scouting season culminates in our Summer Scout Camp experience. Traditionally the troop has attended T.L. Storer Scout Reservation in Barnstead, NH, with a year at Hidden Valley Scout Camp in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. For 2021 and 2022, we have attended Camp Yawgoog, Rockville, RI. We will be attending Camp Yawgoog again in 2023. |
Our History |
Troop 103 was chartered in November of 1966 in the Battle Road District of the Minuteman Council by the Boy Scouts of America. In the mid 1990s, the Minuteman council merged with the Boston Council to become the Boston Minuteman Council. In July of 2015 the Boston Minuteman council merged with the Yankee Clipper Council to become the Spirit of Adventure Council. The district has had many names over the years. We are now part of the Flintlock District comprising the towns of Bedford, Burlington, Carlisle, Concord, Hanscom AFB, Lexington, Lincoln, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, and Woburn. We have grown significantly from 5 scouts in our inaugural year to over 30 scouts for the 2015-2016 school year.
