This May, Troop 103 took a trip to Nickerson State Park in Brewster for a fun-filled long weekend of cycling. Although some of the older scouts expected to be blown away by rain (a thought likely caused by trauma from the troop's last cycling trip), the weather was surprisingly sparing. After a stop at Captain Frosty's for food after the long drive, the troop had some light rain Friday night to Saturday morning. That morning, scouts prepared for a day of cycling, with some scouts doing a 25 mile trip, and even more doing a lengthy 50 miles. Although Noah may have a different opinion after falling off his bike, I can say for myself that the 50 mile trip was a great time! The trail brought many sights, including marshes, several cranberry bogs, and a local bike shop. After lunch in Eastham, we continued to a memorable beach, with high dunes, and even a sign warning of sharks! I've been told the 25 mile trip was a blast, as well. The day was finished off with a cookout, courtesy of our scoutmasters. Sunday morning, as usual, was a try of productivity and persistence, but we eventually got in our cars and back home. I can positively say that the trip was a blast!
