Leadership Training 2024
Scout O Third Place Winners
We are a coed Troop; if you are a boy or girl aged 11-17, we would like to extend an invitation to try scouting with Troop 103. Troop meetings are held most Tuesday nights at Fox Hill Elementary School at 7pm. Please check the calendar for upcoming meetings and events. We are a scout-led troop committed to developing in young men and women the skills required for a successful life.
Since 1973 we have graduated over 80 Eagle Scouts.
Our troop program is organized and run by our scout leaders following the example set by scouting founder Lord Baden Powell.
We offer all Eagle required merit badges through adult leaders within the Troop.
We have earned Scouting's Quality Unit Award for the last 11 years!
Community Service - We are committed to community service and are active in community events. We participate each year in Burlington's Memorial and Veterans Day ceremonies and march the Fourth of July parade.
Camping - We camp at least 8 times a year. Our scouting season culminates in our Summer Scout Camp experience. Traditionally the troop has attended T.L. Storer Scout Reservation in Barnstead, NH, with a year at Hidden Valley Scout Camp in Gilmanton Iron Works, NH. Starting in 2021, we have attended Camp Yawgoog, Rockville, RI which has become our new summer camp home. This year we will be attending week 4: July 20-26.
Troop 103 was chartered in November of 1966 in the Battle Road District of the Minuteman Council by the Boy Scouts of America. In the mid 1990s, the Minuteman council merged with the Boston Council to become the Boston Minuteman Council. In July of 2015 the Boston Minuteman council merged with the Yankee Clipper Council to become the Spirit of Adventure Council. The district has had many names over the years. We are now part of the Flintlock District comprising the towns of Bedford, Burlington, Carlisle, Concord, Hanscom AFB, Lexington, Lincoln, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, and Woburn. We have grown significantly from 5 scouts in our inaugural year to almost 40 scouts for the 2024-2025 school year.
